Welcome! We are the wives from the Ring Community Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and this is our blog. Check in often to see what we're reading, questions to comment on, and other inspiring things we see along the way.
Our History
Several years ago, the Lord put a desire to create a discipleship opportunity for the wives of our church on the hearts of the staff and church members. Since then, we have met together as a group to discuss topics such as communication, self-image, hospitality, identity, and submission...just to name a few!
We believe that, through discipling wives specifically, we are following the command in Titus 2 that states:
3Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,
4so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
5to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
Purposes of Wives' Discipleship:
- That we will become more sanctified by the Holy Spirit;
- That we will view marriage as a tool used by the Lord for our sanctification;
- That we would pray for one another and hold each other accountable to encourage, uplift, and serve our husbands out of love for our Savior;
- That we will love our husbands as the church loves Christ.
We seek to glorify our Savior by studying Biblical truths about marriage and learning how to put them into action on a daily basis. We also desire to uplift one another, to encourage each other, and to pray for each other as we commit to live out the portrait of Biblical womanhood.
